Multi-Track Packages - 'Deals' or 'Albums'

The press release should hit the electronic 'streets' today. It takes a while to propagate but it helps to maintain the up to date image of the site.

It was a quiet weekend on the site as you'd expect in August so we're still looking forward to seeing customers dashing round the new multi-track shop.

In the meantime we are going to add the next 'contribution' to this osCommerce implementation - packages. One of the issues for digital content is the absence of physical packages and here that issue spills into the digital environment. We intend to offer package deals of related tracks such as the Nutcracker Suite or the six movements of two Mozart Quartets. This will be a logical and commercial proposition realized in the database and the pages of the site but we can see no benefit from zipping up the tracks for download or recording them on physical CD's.

Given that - is it legitimate to refer to these packages as albums or will that whimsical thought just draw attention to the absence of physical material? Do we just make the offer in a straight forward commercial way, calling it , say 'a Multi-track Deal' and leave it to customers to choose their own particular pick and mix options? We must take another look at the competition but your thoughts would be most welcome.

One obvious candidate for this packaging treatment is Debussy's Children's Corner which we are going to feature this week - so here is a lofi streaming sample of our percussion arrangement of Dr Gradus at Parnassus - enjoy!

A slight change of tack - I though that the following article makes a good point: Shopping Online -– Protect Yourself These days, there are great bargains to be found by shopping online. Visitor Volumes down - not sure why

Yes the puzzle continues. We know that there has been a significant Google update but the impact on our SERPs has generally not been too significant - the usual crop of ups and downs spiced up by the odd disappearance. But the last couple of days have been 25% down on the previous working day run rate. Remember - don't panic over a couple of day's figures! So we are going to have a long weekend - back next Wednesday (for our small faithful band of regular readers). This trip will be a test of some technology we are planning to take on a much longer excursion later in the year - so we may improve on that if we find Wifi hotspots in North Wales. If you are one of that faithful band it would be fascinating to hear from you. This daily exercise in one way communication gives focus to my morning review of yesterday's data but the complete absence of response is a bit weird. I have to say it is matched by the lack of response on the SEO board where I have zero credibility and
